The Protected Search by conduit is a very stubborn browser extension that itself can be added to Mozilla firefox, Chrome, Internet explorer or Safari. As soon as it gets insatlled, it changes default DNS, homepage and related Internet settings. After this, it becomes able to diver your Google, Yahoo or Bing search results to Protected Search.
When infected by this hijacker, Protected Search toolbar will appear on your browser that makes computer run slower. It frequently displays an error saying “Protected Search has stopped working” and when this error appears, your system/browser crashes automatically. Along with websearch, this malware may divert your homepage to random websites that are usually filled with SPAM and commercial ads. It is recommended to uninstall Protected Search 1.1 malware or any version of this nasty extension to stay safe.

To manually remove Protected Search, follow the instructions.
First of all, Uninstall the program. (Skip to the next step if the application is not listed in Control Panel).
“Start > Settings > Control Panel. Now Locate and open “Add or Remove Programs” or “PROGRAMS AND FEATURES”. Find “Protected Search”. Now click Uninstall/Remove.
Now remove the program from Browser.
Internet Explorer users:

Go to “Tools” (at the top), > “Add-ons” > “Extensions” and disable “Protected Search”
Click “Tools/Settings” (Wrench incon), > “Add-ons” > “Extensions” and disable any file associate with malware.

Delete Protected Search infected files:
